Lake Characteristics
Surface area: 5070 acres
Maximum depth: 49 feet
Impounded: 1963
Normal Clarity: Muddy
Fishing Cover/Structure
Inundated timber is abundant in the upper end of the lake. However, this shallow water area can be difficult to access during low water periods. Siltation from the watershed has exacerbated this condition. Some vegetation is present in the creeks entering the north side of the lake. Emergent native plant species such as water willow, and smartweed provide a marginal fringe during high water periods. Marine naiad provides some submersed cover near Wolf Creek Park. Lake aerator at the spillway provides abundance of shad and other bait fish.
Types of Fish
Largemouth Bass, Hybrid-Striped Bass, White Bass, Blue Catfish, Bullhead Catfish, Channel Catfish, Flathead Catfish, White Crappie, Sunfish
Regulation Exceptions
None state rules apply.
